Will Brake Lights Flash When Using Curt True Course Sway Control

Question:

1. Must I keep my phones Bluetooth on to use the Curt True Course or is it merely for setup? will it work when phone is dead? 2. Will this device cause excessive brake wear or tire heat up? 3. In your video he mentioned needing to install facing outwarddrivers side of frame but that isnt mentioned in Curts install instructions. 4. Will brake lights flash each time activated? Thanks

Those are some good questions, and we'll start with if the brake lights will flash during activation using the Curt True Course Advanced Bluetooth Trailer Sway Control # C94VV.

The answer to that is no, they will not flash when the True Course is activated; brake lights only go on when you step on the brake pedal due to how your trailer is wired, and the signal comes from the wire from the brake light signal. The True Course # C94VV is not wired to that signal so it will not activate your brake lights.

As for installing on the outward driver's side of the frame that is not a requirement, but installing it on the outside of the frame (on either driver or passenger side) is just generally going to be easier. It will also not cause excessive brake wear/tire heat up, the Bluetooth does not have to be on (it is only for set up), and it will work if your phone happens to die.
