Why does the ring say 15,000 lbs if this can only be used for 5,000 lbs like you guys have it listed?

The CargoSmart Forged Steel D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor # 3481762 has a break strength of 15,000 lbs yes, but the 5,000 lb rating if the safe working load limit (WLL).
The difference between the two is the break strength is the point where the metal will break while the WLL is the number you want to keep your cargo from exceeding. The WLL is what the manufacturer has tested and approved the tie-down to be safely used at without any fear of the tie-down failing.
