Can a Trailer Wheel with Larger Diameter Pilot Hole be Used on the Same Hub
Published 04/02/2014 >
Question:
the diameter on the wheels i have now is 2.62 I wanted to know if I could put a wheel on there with a pilot diameter of 3.19

The pilot hole diameter only matters in one of two scenarios:
First, if the wheel secures to the hub using bolts instead of lug nuts then the pilot hole has to be exact because that is how it centers on the hub.
Second, if the wheel secures to the hub using lug nuts but the wheel pilot hole is too small, it just will not fit on the hub. Having a larger pilot diameter on a wheel that secures with lug nuts is fine.
