There is no set travel distance when using the # CAB-C5G, but the adapter tends to put additional stress on the frame where the pin box attaches. This would be one of the main reasons a long cross country trip isn't the best idea. Also, the ride quality will be very poor, especially compared to your Companion # BWRVK3300. Since it sounds like you want to use this for a long trip I would not recommend it.
Instead, I would consider replacing the pin box with the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box. This would be a much better solution for long trips with your 2022 Montana 3231CK, and you won't have to continue to put the Companion in and take it out of your truck. It looks like your GVWR is 16,680 lbs so you will need one of the following based on your current pin box bolt pattern:
-Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel-Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert 1621/1621HD # GY66FR
-Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert 1116/1716 # GY73FR
-Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Fabex/M&M 665 # GY83FR
-Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel to Gooseneck Pin Box - Lippert Rhino # GY23GR
If you aren't sure what pin box you have, take a look and see if it is listed on the pin box itself. If you can get me a serial number off of the sticker I would be happy to identify it for you. If the sticker is gone, you can either call the trailer manufacturer with the VIN or you can measure the bolt pattern. I have attached an article below which explains how to measure for your reference.
