Why Cant Fifth Wheel to Gooseneck Adapters be Used with Cushioned Pin Boxes

Question:

Why do the 5th wheel gooseneck converters not work with a cushioned/air ride pin? I really dont want to replace my pin box and simply get the converter for my incoming Ram 2500 short bed. What is the issue with this combination?

The cushioned pin boxes end up allowing more movement which then puts additional stress on the fifth wheel to gooseneck adapters like the part # AM3139. These already void the warranty of the trailer frame so with any additional stress it ends up being too much basically.

There is one adapter solution that does not void the warranty with the Reese Goose Box like the part # RP85FR which fits in place of the following pin boxes:

Lippert 1621, 1716, 0719, Rhino, and Fabex PB 600 series pin boxes
