Question:
Hi, I have a Toyota Sienna that I just installed the hitch on, I have not yet done the electrical. The electrical they gave me at U-Haul to install is only a four-way. Am I able to install a 7-pin connector? I have a trailer with brakes and trying to figure out how I can activate them as needed. I know I would need a brake controller but not sure which harness to get since the default one from U-Haul is only the four prong. Basically what I be able to install a fully functional seven prong on my Toyota sienna?

You can definitely add on a a 7-way to your Sienna but you'll first need to install the 4-pole wire harness that you purchased. Once that is installed you can then install the # ETBC7. The 4-pole connector will plug into the connector on the # ETBC7 and transfer your light signals. The rest of the wire connections are as follows:
Black: Connect to battery with in-line circuit breaker.
Blue: Run to cab to connect to brake controller.
White: Run to the frame of the Sienna for ground.
Yellow: You can cap this off with electrical tape if you don't need reverse lights on your trailer or splice it into the reverse light circuit on your Sienna if you do want it.

For the brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR. This brake controller is super easy to install and use and won't take up a bunch of space like a standard brake controller. If you have a square-shaped blank in your center console you can also pop it out and replace it with part # RED48FR to mount the control knob of the brake controller for a factory look. You'll need the universal wire harness # RED69FR in order to complete your installation.
I've attached a video below where John will walk you through this process as well.
