Question:
I purchased the Ball Mount #40330 with 1 1/4inch hole for the ball, and a ball #40038 but with only a with 1inch shank. I also have the 2-5/8 ball #63840 that fits the Ball mount fine. Two questions 1. What spacer do you recommend for this to make the 1inch shank fit the Ball mount right? 2. Will this change the tow rating or tongue weight rating on the Ball #40038 or mount #40330? Thanks

Expert Reply:
To use the Curt 2 Inch Trailer Ball, # 40038, with the B&W Ball Mount, # BWBMHD30010, you will want to use the Reese Hitch Ball Bushing, # 58184. This will not reduce the towing or tongue weight capacity of the hitch ball or the ball mount, but you will be limited to the 12,000 lb towing capacity of the hitch ball since it is the lowest rated component.
