For your Dodge Journey, you could use the # C59496 you'd looked at, but there is a plug and play option available as part # 118495 that would be much easier to install.
The Tekonsha # 118495 would plug inline between the vehicle's taillight wiring harnesses and taillight assemblies.. The install should only take a few minutes, as shown in the linked installation video.
