What do I need in order to tow a 2011 R-Pod with a 2019 Toyota Highlander XLE? I would ideally like a wireless brake controller.

I recommend installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13200 on your 2019 Toyota Highlander XLE. This is our only receiver rated for use with a weight distribution hitch which will make towing your 2011 Forest River R-Pod safer.

For the electrical you will start with the Curt T-Connector # C56217. This will give you a 4-way flat which you will then connect to the 7-Way Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L. This kit will give you a 7-way along with the wiring for a charge line which will then allow you to use the Curt Echo # C51180. The Curt Echo is controlled wirelessly from your smart phone using the Curt Echo app. This allows you to easily move your controller to different vehicles as needed.

I do recommend using the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET when towing your R-Pod. This will help to reduce rear end sag and remove both the light steering feel as well as the diminished braking which comes from rear end sag. It also integrates sway control into the hitch helping to prevent the trailer from swaying side to side under strong winds. This particular weight distribution is for trailers with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs and up to 6,000lbs trailer weight which covers the entire line of R-Pod's for your 2011 model year. You will need a 1-7/8" 12pt Thin Walled Socket # ALL643216 to mount the included hitch ball to the hitch.
