Troubleshooting MaxxFan that Closes When Fan is Turned On

Question:
I can open our MAXXAIR fan lid and it is fine. But, as soon as I turn on the fan, the lid closes. What would cause that?

If the fan has a rain sensor I would try cleaning it first as it could be getting a false reading but most likely it's a circuit board since normally if the sensor had issues it would close immediately with just the lid opening. If the fan you have is the part # MA00-04000K the correct circuit board you would need is the part # MA10A21276K.
