Since your 2022 Ram ProMaster 3500 has the extended 159" wheelbase you'll need to go with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76050 instead of the Hitch # 75882 you're looking at.

Over the years we've found that the 75882 has issues with a driver side bolt cutout and the spare tire release on the extended wheelbase ProMasters which is why that exclusion exists.

The 76050 that does fit has a completely different mounting bracket design so the installation isn't a problem. We've actually been able to install this hitch on a 2021 model that I've linked for you to check out.

Most people install a hitch on a ProMaster to tow a trailer so if that's what you're looking to do I recommend picking up the T-One Wiring # 118618 for basic trailer lighting and then the Wiring Kit # ETBC7 and Redarc Brake Controller # RED44FR for a clean-looing installation if you need the ability to activate the brakes on your trailer.

To round out a towing kit I recommend checking out the Ball Mount Kit # EBMK4EL which comes with a ball mount, hitch ball to fit different coupler sizes, a hitch pin & clip, and storage bag to keep everything together.

Attached are some videos for you to check out.

I have a 2019 promaster 159 extended. I do not have the under mount spare so the conflict with the spare tire release isn't an issue. Is the only other issue a bolt i need to cut or grind off? I have the Curt version of the 76050 and the issue with this mount design is that it can't take the torsional action of a bike rack with e bikes on it and the hitch is bending. The more robust mounting of the 75882 looks like it would solve that problem. From your response to Ridge C it seems like it would fit with some very minor fitting. Thanks.

@AnthonyS With that being the case, it does sound like the Draw-Tite # 75882 has a better chance of fitting.. The cutout the manufacturer mentioned made it sound like it has more to do with the actual space where a bolt will fit. I recommend comparing the design of the hitch and the instructions to the mounting location on the underside of your ProMaster to get a better idea of how the fitment will look.

Hi Jon, I have the same issue. (your response to Anthony S. 11/16/22024) Have the 2025 159 Extended and want to install the class IV 75882. I don't use the spare under mount position. Did you find out if this is mountable in this situation? If I need to not use the spare location, and potentially grind or add a hole in the hitch I'm good with that. Does it otherwise fit? Thanks Joe

@Joe The tech note that we have in on this says, "there are issues with the driver side bolt cutout as well as the spare tire release". We unfortunately don't have any first-hand experience with this, so I can't speak to what exactly would need to be done to get this to fit, although it does sound like you have a better chance of getting it to work since you don't have the spare tire.

So you STILL have not answered a question that so many of us have. We ( as the customer) are not in a position to be ordering & RETURNING (at our cost) the BETTER HEAVY-DUTY 75882 receiver. We (as the customer) also dont have relationship with Drawtite that I assume you folks have. We ( as the customer) are not specifically into the selling & fitting & installing MULTIPLE receivers on vehicles. YOU folks ARE in this business. WE ASK YOU to find out this answer!!! And MAKE A VIDEO to show what is LIKELY a very MINOR modification to this 75882 receiver to make it fit/work/install onto our Extended rear Ram 3500 Promasters vehicles. At the very least...Point out SPECIFFICALLY the issues of the spare tire release mechanism access AND if/what this Drivers side bolt (hole shape or grinding off of a part of the receiver) issue is!!! This does not seem like something that should be out of the realm of providing SPECIFIC answers to??? Not the ( it SEEMS like or in your case you SHOULD be able to make it work) type of non specific information I am reading here. I ALSO want to ordere a receiver & dont want to NOT CHOOSE the better HEAVY-DUTY 75882 just because it might block the spare tire release OR maybe for it to work we SIMPLY need to drill a hole or enlarge an existing hole. Same for the (supposed) drivers side bolt ?? (issue). Lets get this cleared up... SPECIFFICALLY ! Please....
