Can Gate Valves Just Be Unbolted From The Assembly Instead Of Cutting The Pipe

Question:

I am looking at the Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable for RV Black Water Tank - 72 Item # TC372 to replace a manual valve. Does the gate assembly simply unbolt from the pipe flanges so I can slide this in place without cutting and gluing new pipe? I want to be able to remove the 4 bolts holding the 1/2 thick section and swap in this new valve assembly. Thanks

Yes, the gate valves are just bolted into the assembly so you could easily unbolt the old valve and swap in Valterra Waste Valve Body w/ Flexible Cable for RV Black Water Tank - 72" # TC372 to avoid cutting the pipe and gluing in new fittings. You'll just want to make sure you really clean out the pipes and use gloves while completing the installation.
