Question:

2023 Chevy Traverse LT without tow package. Hitch with 7pin connector were installed by dealer. I believe I have found the factory brake controller wires see photo. White with blue tracer, black, red with blue tracer, blue. What is the function of each wire and How do they connect to the universal harness? The black and white wires are light gauge, maybe 20ga. Blue and red are maybe 16ga. Does this controller come with the universal harness?

The Curt Spectrum Trailer Brake Controller # C51170 doesn't come with a universal pigtail but that can be acquired with part # C51515. Then all you need to do is match the following wires from the pigtail to the following wires you found on your 2023 Chevy Traverse:

Blue - Blue
Black - Red with Blue
White - Black
Red - White with Blue

I found this information on page 253 of the online version of your owner's manual. You should be able to verify this in your copy of the manual as well.
