Upgrading A 5 Flat To A 7 Way And Where To Connect Reverse Solenoid Wire

I am wanting to change my 5 pin flat plug to a round 7 pin plug to fit my 2017 ford Expedition. My trailer has working surge brakes and a reverse solenoid. My question is can I connect the solenoid wire on the trailer to the blue brake connector on the round plug. Please advise and thanks!

Expert Reply:
The reverse solenoid will be wired to the reverse light circuit on your vehicle. You can use a 7 way plug like # PK12706. We also sell 12 gauge jacketed 2 wire by the foot in part # 12-2-1. The reverse lights are generally wired to the center pin on the 7 way plug # PK12706. I have included a diagram which the locations of each circuit.
