The Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-300 does not require a specific height where it must be mounted. Typically you will mount the top handle just above the door handle or in place of the upper mounting holes on your factory grab handle. This will help to reduce any visible holes after the new handle is installed. I recommend also checking with how the handle feels going out of the camper and down the steps as this is generally when the handle is most important. You want to be able to reach outside the door and easily and grab the top of the handle when going down the steps.
