Pack'Em Rack for 1 Trimmer

This sturdy steel rack mounts securely to the side rail of your open utility trailer. Just set the posts on your side rail at the desired mounting location, ensuring that they are approximately 3' apart. Then drill 4 mounting holes and attach the pre-drilled posts with (4) 3/8" grade-8 bolts (not included).

Install the posts with the trimmer cradles facing outside of the trailer for easy access to your trimmer. This configuration also leaves the bed of your trailer open for lawn mowers or other landscaping equipment.

Hasp and Padlock Secures Trimmer

The rack includes a padlock to secure your trimmer. Just slide the trimmer into the hooks, close the steel hasp on the hook closest to the trimmer handle, and lock it with the padlock.

Very satisfied with my purchase. The racks perform very well under harsh driving conditions. I was nervouse at first but I now feel very comfortable during transportation. My favorite feature is being able to lock both my stihl timmer and edger. I replaced the two provide locks with Brinks pad locks, just for my peace of mind. Living in south florida if you don't properly secure your equipment it will walk away the second you turn your head. Over all fantastic experience, shopping, shipping, and the fallow up by George J. .

by:

Very nice mount. Installs easily. Works well and looks good. I had to wrap the handle of my trimmer in order to make it tighter and not rotate. Will look at the shovel mount next.

Still an excellent product. My son has purchased one after seeing mine.

by:

I purchased this product a year ago and mounted it to the bed rail of my truck and have had no issues with the product itself. The only con and suggestion I have is to get a different lock. Mine came off while driving to work one day, but luckily my trimmer was not in it when it happened. I also wish that it wouldve came with mounting hardware and foam pads or cushins to hold the trimmer more secure. Overall i would definitely buy this product again without question. Thank you for the amazing rack!

Still working great love. it

this product didn't work out for us because we're on rough roads on farms, going down pivot roads with deep wheel tracks all day. when we did this we realized quickly that it was too rough on our weed eaters when they were in your trimmer racks. I've been thinking of cutting some type of rubber or padding to go inside the PK-65 where the weed eater would make contact. I think this product would work good for trailers and trucks that were on smooth roads all the time or most of the time, we're just not.

by:

Perfect fit. I had it installed in about 5 minutes. Holds my trimmer perfectly, and though I have not road tested it yet, it has the feel of holding it nice and firm while driving.

I ordered the rack under the impression the mounting hardware was in box....I received rack...an inside box is directions say in all mounting nuts included..... Boy was I wrong..... Very in satisfied that u have to NOW buy mounting hardware........Advice.....Go to another supplier.....get all hardware as well as better deal.....thanks for the aggravation...

I have the PK-6s and on etrailer.com website it states that hardware is not included. The directions did say that the PK-6S2 came with 4 bolts to use to make it a 2 place holder. Different types of trailers have different types of rails that may require different types of bolts for mounting.

That is precisely why hardware is not included with the PK-6S base system. No two installs are exactly alike. The PK-6S2 expansion kit, does include the hardware since it can only mount to the base in one manner.

This trimmer rack is made of heavy gauge metal. It was easy to install. It was not shipped with bolts to attach it to the trailer; however, I have a tube trailer instead of angle iron so i would have had to purchase different bolts regardless. Trimmer cant fall out during transport. overall I am fully satisfied.

This trimmer rack is not for me. I drive down bumpy roads sometimes especially when on gravel and my trimmer shakes violently. I have had to replace two trimmers since using the rack. 1st time i was cutting grass and the motor fell of the trimmer and the second time i was going up my gravel driveway and the shaft broke on the new power head that i bought to replace the other one. I think that the rack should hold the trimmer more firmly. If you do not drive on bumpy roads it perfect for you however, if you do use bumpy road you should reconsider. I will be selling mine.

by:

Was shipped quick. Easy to put on trailer. Weed eater fits great

by:

I received this product in a good timely manner. (4 days) This product is a very good idea but I believe it needs to be 6 to 8 inches higher. If you have a weedeater with a curved bottom end on it, it will not fit with the guard. Mine keeps hitting my utility rail. Also this product does not come with mounting hardware. It would be a great idea if they would start shipping it with the hardware. My weedeater also does turn in it when I'm going down the road so an option of having some sort of rubber strap or something to keep it from twisting would be a good idea. But other than that this product does serve the purpose I need it to and that is to keep it from rolling around in the bed of my truck.

The same, it serves its purpose!

Bought 2 sets of racks and just installed them today..... Easy installation once you buy the nuts & bolts. I would rather have the hardware come with the racks instead of the locks. I did add spring loaded hooks to the latch so I don't have to mess with the locks.
Haven't actually used them in the field, but they will solve the problem of having the trimmers lying on the trailer floor and moving them around everytime I have to unload the equipment. Bought a new truck and didn't want to haul them in the bed anymore. The racks seem to be solid, exactly what I was looking for & I 'm sure they'll do the job that I bought them for! I really don't see anything negative about this product so far............

Its been about a year since I added the racks to my trailer. They have certainly made life easier! Still no negatives, great decision to buy them, and they do exactly what I hoped they would do!I highly recommend them!

by:

I'm a homeowner who takes care of a lawn at another house I own - I bought this to use on my trailer because I got tired of having the trimmer rolling around in the back of a pickup when I trailered my mower.
This trimmer rack is extremely well made with good welds and a hard coating finish - it should last for a long time. I purchased Grade 8 hardware in order to install (one suggestion - raise the cost a couple of dollars and include the bolts/washers/nuts too) and it was on the trailer in about 15 minutes. It does include a lock and three keys which a positive.
One advantage of this model is that it can be expanded to a double rack if needed - that's a bonus for a homeowner who may add another trimmer or edger.

Over the past year the trimmer rack has worked great but because of our frequent Florida rains, the furnished padlock needed to be replaced. Other than that, no problems.

by:

works great - instructions should have included that the part that hold the trimmer end should always be to the right of the part that holds the motor end. Shipped Timely - received as scheduled

by:

Installation was a breeze! I definitely recommend this product to everyone who wants to lock and store their trimmer neatly.

by:

Good ,neat quality construction Perfect for what I needed.I started to fab one myself, but for that price you wouldn't come out any better if you had to buy the steel. And defiantly you can't match the finish.

by:

Was very happy with how fast it got here. Easy to mount to the trailer. I did upgrade the lock.

by:

Works great and was easy to install.

by:

Photos of installed Packem Trimmer Rack - Open Trailers - 1 Trimmer. Super satisfied and happy with the purchase. I would recommend the rack for anyone who needs to secure a weed trimmer out of their way. It is very secure once installed and the added bonus of being able to lock it is great. Additionally, I highly recommend etrailer for online shopping. My experience was very smooth, etrailer kept me up to date with several emails on the order and tracking information.

by:

This product is great and takes a beating! I have put mine through the ringer and they still work great. Only recommendation I would have is a softer plastic where the metal frame of the weedeater seats. Rubs the metal raw. But again I run my trailers 10 hours a day. I would recommend these over any other out there! I have bought 4 of them. I have even bounced one off the road at 30 Miles per hour! Still works. Hands down great product. Built strong and for the working man. I buy alot of stuff from you guys and had no issues. Thanks for the good products. I also live in the Northeast. This product stands up to the rough winter as well. Thanks again!

by:

I didn't use your product as originally designed by your guys but I see a market for you to enter if you like how I have used it. It worked perfect for what I wanted I did end up painting them flat black to match everything else so maybe an option of just ordering a primer option as well for the people that want to paint them to match trailers or anything else.
thanks and I will be using your products in the future.

That is a nice solution. I can see a lot of groundskeepers and golf courses using a set up like this. Thanks for sharing the photos!

by:

This rack was the finishing touch on my trailer. I was worried about whether or not the wood siding would impede the trimmer, but if it is mounted to the far outside of the rail, it clears the vertical plane of the wood and is not an issue. I also like the fact that the rack is able to accommodate an expansion, so as to add another trimmer down the line, if needed. Well worth the price. Also, shipping was fast and order communication was excellent. Only thing I would recommend, is the option to buy the bolts and even possibly a metal drill bit so customers do not have to make a separate trip to the hardware store.

by:

I have a RedMax 2460TS trimmer and decided to mount the posts just a little bit over 3’ (center of pole to center of pole) and it seems to ride well. It does bounce, but that is to be expected with any sort of rack. I will be upgrading my locks to a more substantial brand and matching it up to my blower rack. I mounted it with hex bolts, flat washers, locking washers and locking nylon nuts and the rack is as sturdy as it can be. The only addition I will be making is adding some foam tape on the inside of the locking mechanism around the handle to apply more pressure and prevent the trimmer from moving and causing damage to the throttle trigger. For the price and ease of installation you can’t beat it. I also like the option of adding an additional level on to accommodate other equipment, and will be doing so very soon. Shipping was extremely fast and everything arrived as promised.

by:

This product was perfect for my 4x6 utility trailer. I own a lawn care service in Shawnee, Kansas this is solely owned and operated by me which is why I wanted the single rack (single racks aren't very popular, most usually come with racks for 2-3 trimmers). This product was just exactly what I was looking for and wanted for my trimmer and it looks great on the trailer. My trimmer fits perfectly in the rack. I have already had several people ask me where I got it and I proudly say everytime - "I got it from Etrailer.com."

Does the trimmer spin when locked in place? Thanks!

by:

Good little single trimmer holders, but the provided locks were not so hot. I added my own locks. Also put extra foam padding on the lockable support side.

Looks great on your trailer, Edward! The padlocks you ended up using do look beefier than the ones that come with it for sure!

  • Mounting Options For Landscaping Equipment On A 2017 Subaru Outback Roof Rack
Hi Heather, There really isn't a good option for mounting the Pack'Em Trimmer Rack # PK-6S or others like it to the crossbars since it has a flat base and most crossbars are rounded/elliptically shaped. There honestly isn't a great option for mounting landscaping equipment to roof rack crossbars so your best solution would be a platform rack that you could use some square nuts to mount the channels of the platform. A platform rack would also allow you to mount other cargo boxes/bags and...

  • Is Mounting Hardware Included With the Pack'Em Trimmer Rack
Hey Edward, unfortunately mounting hardware is not included with the Pack'Em Trimmer Rack for Utility Trailers # PK-6S but you should be able to get that at any local hardware store. The grade 8 bolts, nuts, and washers is what I'd get, a lock with a key is provided, and slipping on a rubber hose is a good idea to keep those trimmers protected :) Let me know if you have any other questions below, and I'd be happy to help!

  • How Does the Pack'Em Expansion Pack Part # PK-OP1 Install on a Trailer
The Pack'Em Trimmer Rack part # PK-6S installs directly on the trailer's side rail (see photo 1). The Pack'Em Expansion Pack part # PK-OP1 installs on a set of uprights like the Pack'EmTower Kit for Pack'Em Racks part # PK-BM (see photo 2) so I am not really sure I understand what you mean. They do not attach to one another. Please let me know if you need further clarification.

  • How to Orientate the Installation of the Pack'Em Single Trimmer Rack # PK-6S on Trailer
With the Pack'Em Single Trimmer Rack # PK-6S I would recommend having the motor of the trimmer facing the front of the trailer. The motor side mount fully latches around the trimmer whereas the other side requires you to angle the trimmer in to get it in place. It would be nearly impossible for this side of the trimmer to come out while traveling, but with it mounted behind the motor side this risk would get eliminated. I attached an install video for you to check out as well.

  • Can the Single Timmer Rack PK-6S Attach to Round Trailer Rails
My contact at Pack-Em advises that their Rack for Open Utility Trailers, part # PK-6S, can mount to a trailer that has a (round) tubular frame rail. Since mounting hardware is not included with this item you have the options of drilling into your trailer frame to install the two towers with your own hardware or using u-bolts to attach them to your trailer rail, which would avoid the need to drill your trailer. The two main C-channel upright towers measure 2-inches wide x 1-inch deep.

The Pack'Em # PK-6S trimmer rack can indeed be installed on a piece of 2 inch square tube stock. You'd simply through-bolt downwards through the entire width of the tubing. You'd need to use 3/8 inch grade 8 bolts that are at least 2-1/2 inches long. The hardware isn't included, so you'd need to source that locally.
