The USB Outlet with Waterproof Cap # DG61USBVP requires a 1-1/8" depth without the cap. The cap for the face has a ring that slides onto the shaft and is approximately 5/16" thick. If you plan on using the cap then the ring portion of it would have to sit on the outside of the wall along with the face leaving approximately 13/16" in the wall. You'll want to ensure that you leave a bit of extra room for the wires so that they aren't being smashed against anything.
