Question:
Hello, I am planning on taking my family in our 2010 Winnebago Access 31J on a trip from DFW, TX to Portland, OR this summer and I would like to bring the family car with us. It’s a 2015 GMC Yukon 4x4. Is it possible to flat tow? Is there anything I would need or should do to the motorhome to help it tow the vehicle? Also, what would I need for the vehicle to flat tow if that is an option? All help is appreciated. Thank you.

You'll want to verify in your specific Yukon's owner's manual that it is capable of being towed with all four wheels on the ground prior to purchasing any parts, but the online version does show the 4WD models as being capable of flat towing. I have the following recommendations to help get your Yukon set up and ready to tow:
Baseplate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit # RM-523179-5.
Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate # e84ZR. This tow bar has the safety cables bracketed to the arms so that you don't have to purchase them separately or worry about them dragging on the ground. The head and shank have a bit of adjustability to help stay level without having to purchase a high/low adapter.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This diode kit will splice into the tail light wiring on your Yukon and display your motorhome's traffic signals through the Yukon tail lights to keep you street legal.
Since the battery needs to be disconnected to flat tow your Yukon I recommend installing the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect with Switch # RM-766 to make connecting/disconnecting the battery as simple as pressing a button.
Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This system will permanently install in your Yukon and provide proportional braking to that of your motorhome with no setup after the initial installation. The majority of this system will be placed in the engine bay with the G-Force controller and the air cylinder/actuator inside of the cab.
Since the brake light switch wire isn't usable on your Yukon you'll need to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751463 for the indicator light on the # SM99251 to receive the signal that the brake is being depressed in the Yukon.
Other than that you could install a charge line # RM-156-25 on the Yukon to keep the battery charged while you tow. If your motorhome doesn't have a charge line connected to the 7-way then you would need part # RM-156-75 as well.
