With the Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Coupler Adapter # KPG5-R25-IP you are not required to use safety chains. Since this uses a 5th wheel connection chains are not required. Only ball type connections like you have with a regular gooseneck require chains. If you are only using this temporarily or for certain vehicles you will want to hook the chains up out of the way. If this is going to be the only towing method you can remove the chains.
