What to Consider when Going from a 175/80B13 Tire Size to a 185/80R13
Updated 02/12/2014 | Published 02/11/2014 >
Question:
Currently I have 175/80B13 tires on the boat trailer, but I have a much nicer and newer set of 185/80r13s sitting in the shop. Would it cause problems if I put the slightly larger tires on there? The fenders currently have about 2inch of room above the tires. Thanks!

The difference in diameter between the two tire sizes you listed is .3 of an inch. I highly doubt that difference would cause an issue, but just to be safe you should still check to be sure that when the suspension of the trailer compresses that would not cause interference.
You also will be going from a bias ply tire to a radial which is also an upgrade since radials tend to run cooler and wear better.
