What Size Hole Saw Is Needed To Install the SmartPlug RV Power Inlet and Connector?

What size holesaw do you use. To make your cut in wall of trailer or boat.

Since the SmartPlug RV Power Inlet and Connector - 30 Amp # SM77FR is 3" wide, you could use the 3" hole saw like what's in the kit # PT34VR and then use a sanding tool to sand the hole until you get a snug fit.

You'll just want to make sure the hole you make is not larger than 3-1/4" as then the receptacle that houses the plug would have nothing to bite into.

The SmartPlug BF30 dimensions document and installation template shows a 2.43" diameter hole as the minimum hole size required to install the inlet. A 2.5" hole is adequate, and a 2.625" (2 5/8") is on the large side. Cutting a 3" hole in the trailer/vehicle/RV to install the SmartPlug 30 amp inlet leaves very little overlap between the gasket and the skin around the hole.
