Can a Blue Ox TrackPro, specifically the BLU36FR, be used without the spring bars as an adjustable height hitch? Im thinking of occasional use for things like a U-Haul flat bed that differ in height from my main trailer.

Yes, you can use the head, shank, and hitch ball part of the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution part # BLU36FR for standard towing when you don't need weight distributing properties. It would basically act as an adjustable ball mount. That said, when you do need weight distribution and sway control help, you would just easily hook up the spring bars. Please note, the system comes with a pre-installed 2' hitch ball and has a 600 lb tongue weight / 6,000 lb gross trailer weight rating.
