Installing A Battery Charge Line For Flat Towed Vehicle With 4-Way Connector

Updated 02/06/2023 | Published 02/04/2023

Question:

I tow a 2010 Honda CRV with this Roadmaster part # 164-7. Works great but now I want to add the Roadmaster towed battery charger line. Since I only have 4 pins on the auto hookup is it possible? If yes then what parts would I need?

It is possible for you to add the Roadmaster Charge Line Kit # RM-164-7 onto your 2010 Honda CRV but you will have to alter a few things. First you will to use the Roadmaster 7 Wire to 6 Wire Flexo-Coil Kit # RM-146-7. This kit will include a 6-way round connector that you will need to install onto your Honda CRV. You will need to cut off the existing 4-way connector and connect the wires to the 6-Way. I will attach a picture below to help you further. You will need to be sure to match the wires up by function, and you can do that by using a circuit tester like # PTW2993.

With your RV having a 4-flat also you will need to adapt the 4-way to a 7 round and you can do that by using the # 30717. After adding the adapter you will also need to run the charge line # RM-156-75 on your RV. With all of this done you will be able to use the Roadmaster Charge Line Kit # RM-164-7 and can connect the battery to the 6-way plug on the front of your CR-V.

I linked an installation video below of the Charge Line Kit being installed onto a 2006 Honda CR-V. The installation process will be very similar for your 2010 Honda CR-V. If you have any further questions please feel free to reach back out to me anytime and I would be more than happy to further assist you.
