Recommended Bunk Brackets for Angle Iron Cross Members on Boat Trailer
Updated 02/01/2023 | Published 01/31/2023 >
Question:
Hi, I have a sailboat trailer that has L-angle/channel cross-members with welded bunk supports. These supports are rusting away. I am trying to find a solution with a clamp-on product. I can send photos of the trailer if that helps.

It sounds like you're looking for a set of bunk board brackets and if that's the case we have some great options for you such as the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies part # CE10000G-4. These brackets are designed to attach to the cross members via u-bolts. The cross members are usually either a c-channel or square tube so if you don't have flat sides to attach the brackets to, you'd likely need to find a way to box the cross members in such as with a block of wood. The other option would be to weld the brackets to the frame like what you have now or replace the cross members.
I have attached our full selection of bunk brackets below for you as well. If you want to try to box the cross members in and need u-bolts, simply provide me with the height of the cross member and I'd be glad to see if we have some u-bolts for you.
