The Curt Pintle Hook Mounting Plate for 2-1/2" Hitches # C48239 has a solid shank, which helps provide for its robust 18,000 lb capacity.
To secure it to your 2-1/2" hitch you will need either the Hitch Pin and Clip # 325-GH-099 or Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # FA86-00-3160.
