Will 235/80-16 Tires Fit Older 16.5" Wheels

Updated 01/30/2023 | Published 01/28/2023

Question:

I have an RV thats been sitting for a while it has 8.75r16.5 xca radials on it that are all cracked I see your conversion shows I could possibly use a 235 80 16 Im wondering if I could use the same wheels that I already have or will this cause a problem I also see that they show 30.79 overall height is that going to be an issue with the RV using the current wheels?

Thanks for reaching out!

For your application you'll need to use entirely new wheels and tires. Your current wheels are 16.5" while the 235/80-16 tires use 16" wheels so the tires won't be able to fit around your older wheels.

I recommend checking out the Kenda Karrier ST235/80R16 Radial Trailer Tire with 16" Black Mod Wheel # AM34834 which has a 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern, a load range of E (3,500 lbs at 90 psi), and a max speed rating of 81 mph.

Attached is a review video for you to check out!
