Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 13,000 lbs Travel Trailer

Question:
Hello, We just purchased a 2022 Stryker STG 3313 37foot 11inch total, the dealer installed hitch is a Husky Centerline TS WD Hitch, I assume with 1400 bars No markings. I drive a 2018 Silverado 2500HD Duramax HD crew cab long bed with a 5inch CST lift on 35inch General Grabber AT tires. Based on what I see this hitch doesnt seem to be rated high enough for the tongue weight of the trailer. Do you recommend a different style hitch? I am trying to eliminate sway as I have had this white knuckle problem with others trailers in the past. What are your thoughts on my truck trailer combination since the trailer is pretty long for a bumper pull, and should I go with a different style WD Sway Control Hitch?

Congrats on the new trailer and thanks for the pictures! I checked online and it looks like your 2022 Stryker STG 3313 tops out at just below 13,000 lbs. Tongue weight is typically 10% - 15% of your trailer's total weight. The 1,400 lbs system seems extremely low and would only be beneficial if you were way on the low end. You can load your trailer up and use the etrailer Tongue Weight Scale for Campers and Utility Trailers - 2,000-lb Capacity # e99044 to get an exact weight.
If your tongue weight is going to be towards the middle or top of the 10% - 15% range then I recommend the Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution item # BXW2003. This system works best with tongue weights from 1,500 lbs - 2,000 lbs but wouldn't be too much if you were under it.
The Blue Ox SwayPro has rotating lift brackets that ensure the chains are tight to put constant tension on the spring bars and prevent sway. This will help keep your trailer in line when you're driving down the highway and get passed by a semi or encounter a large gust of wind. These brackets clamp on to the side of your trailer frame.
The Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution item # BXW2003 comes with a 2-5/16" hitch ball and a 2-1/2" shank.
If your 2018 Silverado 2500 doesn't have a 2-1/2" receiver you will also need the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution Shank for 2" Hitches item # BLU86FR. This shank will give you 15" of adjustability.
I have linked an installation and review video below so you can see the process and check out the functions of this system.
