The best way to secure a spare tire on the Roadmaster Spare Tire Carrier # RM-195125 is by using a cable lock. The Curt Adjustable Cable Lock # C23666 will allow you to run the cable through your wheel and down to the receiver to secure it to your vehicle. This work best as the upright is bolted and the lug nuts are only threaded. The cable will ensure the spare wheel and tire are locked to structure on the back of your vehicle. Depending on your tow vehicle you can use the chain hooks for the receiver or around the bumper itself.
