Question:

I have a 2022 Kia Soul with separate brake and turn signal lights. If I hookup the way shown then if the turn signal is on the brake light in the toad flashes which is OK but if the toad brakes on on that will override the signal from the RV and turns the toad light on steady. Could I use a second set of diodes that use the brake/turn signal from the RV to activate the toad turn light in addition to the brake light being activated. By just jumpering the brake light RV signal to both the brake diode and the new turn signal diode.

Vehicles with separate taillights can be wired for flat towing like a combined vehicle with a diode kit like the # RM-15267 and the brake lights will flash like turn indicators when blinkers are on and the brake signal will not override it. This is the simplest way to wire up a vehicle like this and would be what I would do.

But we do have kits that allow you to wire up the tow vehicle with separate taillights and use the amber lights as blinkers with the # 154-792-118158.
