Recommended Suspension Upgrade for 2021 Keystone Passport SL

Question:

As stated above, I have a 2021 Keystone Passport SL. The travel trailer has wide stance tandem axles. As etrailer recommended, I added the Roadactive Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement kit to my truck, but now Im looking to make the trailer ride a little smoother while in tow. I was thinking of replacing the equalizer, but wasnt sure what options were available and also if that would be something I could replace myself.

Upgraded equalizers are a great way to improve the ride of your trailer. In order to choose the correct replacement you will need to measure your current equalizer. The best upgraded equalizer is the one that matches your current equalizer dimensions. Matching the length (distance from center of left-most eye to center of right-most eye) is the most important.

Based on your wide stance description, you are probably looking at equalizers like the Equa-Flex Cushioned Equalizers # LC314336. These measure 14-5/8" long and 3-1/4" tall. Alternatively, you could measure your wheelbase and use the MORryde 14-3/4" Shock Absorbing Equalizers # MR34AR if you have a 42" wheelbase.

In addition to the upgraded equalizer I highly recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Tandem Axle Trailer. This kit comes with 1/2" thick shackles, wet bolts, and bronze bushings. If you currently have 2-1/4" shackles you need the # MR46ZR and for 3-1/8" shackles the # MR76ZR.
