I have a 2020 Subaru Ascent with a hitch and 4 pin wiring already installed. What type of break/wiring system, do I need to haul a 1 axle camper that has breaks

To add a brake controller to your 2020 Subaru Ascent you'll need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 and then for the actual brake controller I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR and Pigtail # RED69FR.
I really like this controller because the main body of the controller can be installed anywhere in the vehicle so you can place the control knob in a convenient location. This makes it easier to use the controller but also saves on cab space in your vehicle since you don't have a whole "brick" sitting next to your knee even when you aren't towing.
