Troubleshooting Cracking and Popping Noise of Trailer Wheels At Slow Speeds
Published 11/28/2022 >
Question:
I recently replaced all four of my brake backing plates with self adjusting shoes installed and the hubs with bearings installed. When I turn at slow speeds I hear a snapping and cracking sound coming from the wheels. Can you tell me what this might be and how to fix it? Thanks

That sounds like loose lug nuts. Which if you didn't retorque them after driving on them for a little bit they can work themselves loose.
