Question:
We just purchased a Ford 2022 Explorer with the tow package. It has factory installed hitch, 4 wire and 7 wire plug. The problem is I can’t find the connector in the car that can connect to any of the controllers you sell. I’ve opened up the driver side panels and took several pictures but didn’t see any obvious connectors. There is also a shin air bag which makes it hard to see if there are any connectors behind it.

Since your 2022 Ford Explorer has the towing package, the connector is located under the dash, above and to the right of where the driver's right knee would be. It's hidden behind what's called the appearance panel and you will need to remove two screws to get the panel off. The connector will be rectangular, and will be gray in color. The gray plug is sometimes taped together to another plug.
I saw you were looking at the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer item # RED44FR. A better option with a similar functions and installation profile is going to be the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller item # RED24FR. With this controller you will be able to hide the main unit out of sight and the only part visible will be the nickel sized controller knob.
You will want the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers item # RED87FR to complete your installation. This harness works with both of the Redarc brake controllers.
