Question:
I’m looking for help with picking the correct trailer wiring converter. I’ve got a 2005 peterbilt 330 with air brakes. I use a 7 pin semi style for my air brake trailers. I’m wanting to run wiring for 7 way RV. Wondering weather to tap into the wiring at the back of the truck witch would be the same as 7 way rv and use a converter for the extra draw. Or… Tap into the 7 way semi plug and use a converter to fix the stop/turn signal issue? Either way I understand that I will have to install a trailer brake control and run a dedicated blue trailer brake wire for the rv plug

The trailer connector used on most semi-tractors is a 7-pin round which is similar to a 7-way flat used on most RV's but the big difference between them is how the stop and turn signals are wired. The stop and turn signal circuits are separate on semi-tractors and they need to be combined for most RV's. In order to do this you'll need a simple converter, the Roadmaster Brite-Lite Wiring Converter part # RM-732 and a new trailer connector, the Universal Brake Controller install Kit part # ETBC7. This kit also has everything else you need to install a trailer brake controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195.
