Question:

I dont have the original equipment manufacturers Puck system in the back of my ram my ram is a 6 and a 1/2 foot bed cause its a Mega cab do I need to have that Puck system ordered along with the hitch and everything to make it work?

The Curt A30 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for RAM Towing Prep Package # C64BR only comes with feet that fit into Ram's puck system so without it you wouldn't be able to attach the hitch to the bed of your truck. The Ram puck system is something only Ram can put in your vehicle and there isn't an aftermarket option available.

Instead you can use the Curt A30 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C66HR, which can mount onto base rails like the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Ram Truck # C16427-204. This is essentially the same hitch, but with different legs. The base rail kit is a custom-fit design for your specific truck to help minimize drilling into the frame rail, which I can confirm from experience can take forever.

Just remember that you have to use a rotating pin box and the # C16992 to prevent contact with your RamBoxes.
