Question:

I have a roof thickness that is less than the measurement of the garnish. What toll should I use to trim it down to fit my unit? I do not want to crack it as I make the cuts.

When it comes to trimming The Ceiling Garnish for MaxxAir MaxxFan RV Roof Vent # MA54FR you will need to use masking tape to mark where you want to make your cut on the garnish. You will then need to use a hand saw to cut along the masking tape.
