For replacing the Drive Head # LC34FR and Idler Head # LC87FR on a Solera Slide Topper you will want to completely remove the slide topper from your RV/Camper. You will need to insert a pin into the end of the tube end cap(see image) to keep the springs wound during removal. Once removed you will want to secure the entire tube while you remove the end cap and count the number of turns and direction the end arm turns. Then you will be able to remove each head assembly by removing the screws that hold on the end cap for each of the heads. The old old head will then slide out.

Installation is very similar. You will slide in the arm assembly making sure to orient the arm on the head in the same orientation as the one you removed and secure the screws. Then you will be able to wind the spring by the arm and install a pin to cap to hold it(see image). Once you have completed both sides you will be able to reinstall the slide topper. Be sure to remove the temporary pins before you attempt to slide out the awning as it could damage the components.
