Will RockyMounts MonoRail Allow Rear Hatch of 2017 Subaru Forester to Open without Bike Loaded

Question:

Im interested in the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo RKY10007, which looks like a good fit for my 2017 Subaru Forester. Id like to know whether my cars hatchdoor will clear the empty rack in the stow position *without being tilted*. I want to be able to leave the stowed rack in place when not carrying a bike which would be most of the time and not have to adjust the rack to get into the back of my car which I do a lot. This is a deal-breaker for me. Thanks for your guidance on this!

We had the chance to install and use the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo bike rack part # RKY10007 on a similar 2018 Subaru Forester and found that the rear door would easily open without a bike installed and the rack in the standard upright position. Worth mentioning is that with a bike loaded we found that the rear hatch would open if the rack would tilt back.
