Recommended Blue Ox Base Plate for a 2022 GMC Canyon and Flat Towing Set Up

What is the right Blue Ox base plate for 2022 GMC Canyon Elevation? Does it require any cutting of the front grill?

The correct Blue Ox base plate kit for your 2022 GMC Canyon is item # BLU93FR. This kit has removeable arms that will leave the front end of your truck looking clean when you are not towing.

These base plates work for Blue Ox tow bars but you will need adapters for other brands. For Demco you need item # BX88310 and for Roadmaster item # RM-031 or item # RM-031-5.

I have linked the instructions below for you to take a look at. There will be no required cutting or trimming of any material on the front of your Canyon. The base plates attach where your tow hooks are currently mounted. They will protrude through the same hole in the bottom of your trim that the tow hooks do.

I have listed some other components you will need to flat tow your 2022 GMC Canyon below. Since you are going to be flat towing a brand new truck I recommend installing a braking system over a portable one that gets removed. This will pay off in convenience for years and won't be an obstruction for daily driving.
