Recommended Roof Rack for a 2018 Jeep Sahara JK Wrangler Unlimited

Question:

I am looking for a roof rack for my 2018 Jeep Sahara JK hardtop. I currently have the Yakima Jay Low carriers and would like to stay with the Yakima brand if possible. Also, my concern is about he strength of the rain rail on the hardtop roof being strong enough for 2 60lbs kayaks. I look forward to your recommendation. Thanks,

I have a great solution for you but the Yakima roof rack system for your 2018 Jeep Sahara JK Wrangler Unlimited is not capable of hauling kayaks. Instead you will want to use the 2018 Jeep JK Wrangler Roof Rack by Rhino Rack which includes the following parts:

Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Black - 59" Long - Qty 2 item # RRVA150B-2

Rhino-Rack Quick Mount Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - RTC and RT Roof Rack Tracks - Qty 4 item # RRRLT600

Rhino-Rack Backbone Roof Rack Mounting System item # RRRJKB2

Rubber Bases for Rhino-Rack RRRLT600 Quick Mount Legs - Qty 4 item # RRQMFK06

This system has a 165 lbs capacity.

Another popular option is to use the backbone roof mounting system for Jeep Wrangler hard tops item # RRRJKB2 and rubber bases item # RRQMFK06. Then you will simply use crossbars like the 59" item # RRVA150B-2 to complete the roof rack.
