Can A 2-Wire LP Detector Replace A 3-Wire LP Detector

Question:

I see where you have answered that the R554FR will replace the Atwood 36636, However my Atwood 36636 is a 3 wire so will this still work and if not do you have one that will?

The RV Propane Gas and Carbon Monoxide Detector - 12 Volt - 2 Wire - Black # RS54FR can be used to replace your 3-wire Atwood LP Detector. The third wire is just a backup power source in the event that your first power source is depleted.

Typically one wire to your DC fuse board in your power center as the back up and the main power running off your trailer's battery. You can attach the battery powered wire to the # RS54FR and simply cap off the trailer power center wire.
