Roof Rack for a Leer 180 Truck Cap with Tracks on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma to Carry a Cargo Box

Hi, ‘ I have a 2017 Tacoma with a newly installed Leer 180 cap. It has Thule tracks installed from the factory. I have a Thule cargo box that I’d like to attach to my cap for roadtrips. These Rhino Rack kit has a max load of 200lbs doesn’t seem like a lot. Is there a better system? Is 200lbs enough for a box and gear? But taking into account the box, spare tent, etc, weight adds up quick. Is there a more reboust system you’d recommend?

The Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Factory Tracks # Y02-480B-NT which will fit in the Thule tracks on the Leer 180 cap on your 2017 Toyota Tacoma has a capacity of 220 lbs. This is a pretty standard weight capacity for a rack on a Leer 180 cap. There are some racks out there that only provide 165 lbs. The 220 lbs. the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Factory Tracks # Y02-480B-NT provides is on the high side and is plenty for your rooftop box and its contents.
For instance, the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629907 (largest capacity we carry) weighs 55 lbs. and can hold up to 165 lbs. which equals the 220 lb. capacity of the rack.
