Slide Out Topper Extrusion Rail Placement When A Rain Gutter Is In The Way

Can I install my topper above this gutter or if should I remove it. I have 2inch to bottom of gutter, and 3inch to roof gutter. Thanks. Gutter only has 3 screws

Expert Reply:
The C-Channel of the extrusion rail that your Solera RV Slide-Out Awning # LCV000168106 is going to slide into needs to be placed 3-inches above the slide out flange. If you can get close to 3-inches by butting the C-Channel up against the gutter then you'll be fine. If you're only getting 2" then I personally would remove the gutter and raise it to give your slide topper enough room to mount correctly.
Make sure that you place some butyl tape # AL28FJ on the back of the interior brackets and extrusion rail to help prevent any water from leaking in through your mounting screw holes.
