Question:

I just purchased a new 2022 Subaru Forester and it came with Thule extended aero rails. When trying to mount my upride, the original t-screws just pop right out and wont tighten. Are there any other type of screws that I can use instead of the original t-screws that came with the upride?

Your Thule UpRide Roof Bike Rack - Wheel Mount # TH599000 uses a M6x35mm T-bolt # TH33RV.

If your bolt is too short, you could use the longer Replacement 65 mm T-Track Screw for Thule ProRide XT and UpRide Roof-Mounted Bike Racks # TH86VW.

This bolt measures 65mm long and would provide much more length for your Thule UpRide to be able to mount to your 2022 Subaru Forester.

You'll also want to make sure the T-bolts are properly situated in the tracks on your roof rack, and that the barrel nuts are threaded onto the bolts.

Once the t-bolts are dropped into the tracks on your crossbars, and the latches are threaded into the barrel nuts, you'll just need to twist the entire latch to tighten to your roof rack. You don't need to crank it down super hard, just enough for the latch to have some resistance when closing.
