Question:
I have a 2000 dodge dakota that I would like to install a 16k 5th wheel hitch overkill, i know, its from a dodge 3500 i had previously. I have all the parts from the 3500 install, and know the brackets dont fit a dakota. I see you have compete kits including the hitch and rails, but in my situation am only looking for the brackets to attach to the dakota frame. Is this something you can sell me as the brackets only since I have the rails and hitch already? FYI... the trailer i want to pull is a 1983, 20 ft 5th wheel that weights in at less than 3200lbs 2000lbs+/- empty, with a 350lb pin weight so Im well within my towing capabilities on this truck. Im also prepared to install air bag suspension to keep from squatting, if needed. Would really like to talk to someone about this project. Thanks

If you can let me know what brand base rails you have I can definitely see if we have mounting brackets that will match up with your 2000 Dodge Dakota.
According to my research though it looks like the parts are universal fitments so you could just install the B&W Universal Base Rails and Installation Kit # BWRVR3200 which gets you all new hardware, brackets, and rails that match each other so you know everything is fresh and matches. Sometimes there are differences in mounting holes which is why we always recommend sticking with the same brand for materials.
For suspension enhancement we'll need to look into a different setup as the air bag kits use the same mounting locations as the 5th wheel brackets so you won't be able to physically install them together. For your application I recommend checking out the RAS part # RAS4529 for a 2WD or part # RAS4514 for a 4WD. These work to pull your leaf springs back to a resting position and you're able to set the amount of tension. This means you'll be able to avoid messing with your unloaded ride quality as well as get just the right amount of help if you end up needing it for your OEM suspension.
I also recommend looking into the Curt Wiring # C56071 which adds a 7-Way socket in your truck bed so it's easier to connect your 5th wheel wiring to your truck.
Attached are some videos for you to check out.
