I have a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 hd short bed that didn’t come with the gm 5th wheel prep kit.my question is there a aftermarket one I can install so I don’t have rails in bed?

We have a below bed rail solution for your 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 short bed with the B and W Turnoverball part # BWGNRK1020. This essentially is a gooseneck hitch that doubles as a rail kit for B and W's Companion hitches like the slider Companion part # BWRVK3400 or the fixed hitch part # # BWRVK3500. Many consider the Companion hitches to be the best hitches around so this will give you the clean bed you are wanting as well as a very nice hitch that will work well and be very quiet.
Now to determine if you need a slider or a fixed hitch comes down to the trailer you plan to tow. If the nose is tapered and you have an extended pin box then go with the fixed hitch. If the nose is not tapered and the pin box isn't extended then you'd need the slider to provide turning clearance.
