When it comes replacing the trailer axle on your boat trailer that has a 48 inch hub face I would recommend The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System - Straight Spindle Only - 3,500 pounds # ASR3500S05.
This axle-less system provides a smooth, quiet, safe ride and can eliminate the need for an axle, which allows for maximum ground clearance and a low deck height. This system will fit any frame width. This kit has a heavy-duty steel construction that has a black powder coat finish that resists wear and corrosion. It is easy to install and align. You can either bolt or weld to your trailer's frame.
This system it meant for a 1-axle or 2-axle trailer and is not recommended for triple-axle applications. The hubs needed for the kit need to have an inner bearing # L68149 and an outer bearing # L44649.
The Timbren Axle-Less suspension system may require additional support on your trailer. If your trailer does not have a crossmember above the spot where you want to install the Timbren system, then you may need to reinforce the frame on your trailer. You can do this three different ways:
-You can retrofit the trailer with a crossmember
-You can build out the trailer frame
-You can use a standard, 2-inch steel tubing to connect the 2 Timbren suspensions together using the built-in square hole on each unit.
