Question:

Hey guys, just picked up our new Ram 2500 Diesel which sports a 2.5inch receiver for the hitch assemble, as opposed to the 2inch receiver on the 2500 Suburban. Question is, is it acceptable to use a reducer sleeve inside the 2.5 receiver to accommodate the existing 2inch ball mount assembly? Hoping this will suffice, not wishing to purchase a new 2.5inch ball mount/WD assembly for the travel trailer. Thanks for feedback.

It is perfectly acceptable to use a hitch reducer sleeve so you can use your ball mount on your 2022 Ram 2500. The Trailer Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # e26YR is a great choice for this. Also, unlike an adapter, this will not reduce the capacity of your hitch. If you want a lock to go with it that will fit the reducer sleeve as well as your 2-1/2" receiver you can use the etrailer Hitch Receiver Lock for 2" and 2-1/2" Hitches - Flush - 3-5/8" Span - Chrome # e98881.
