Question:

The tear currently has 235/75 R15 tires on it. Can I put a different size tire on as a spare?

I would not recommend going with a different tire size tire and spare as an ideal solution...if you were on the side of the highway and that's all you had maybe it would be worth limping home if there was no other solution. But a different size tire is going to cause the trailer to not sit level and could cause handling issues and in the event of having to make an emergency maneuver you'd run a higher risk of the trailer doing something unexpected like flip over etc.

So if you are shopping for a spare I would have to recommend highly you go with the size you have now like with our Westlake ST235/75R15 part # LH46FR which is an off road tire in this size mounted on a black aluminum wheel.
