Question:

I am considering the bike carrier listed below for my forester: Yakima OnRamp Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes Am concerned it wont work with my bike, a trek verve+2, which has a low step frame. If this carrier wont work, can you recommend another? Thanks. And thanks for taking the trouble of producing all those videos, have been very helpful over the years. Really excellent customer service! I dont know of anyone else, in any field, who goes to the trouble.

First, thanks so much for the nice words, they are really appreciated. And I have good news for you as your Trek Verve+2 Lowstep bike is absolutely compatible with the OnRamp, which is the following part number, depending on if you have a 1-1/4" hitch or 2" hitch:

- Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 2" Hitches # Y88DJ

- Yakima OnRamp LX Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes - 1-1/4" Hitches # Y28DJ

The reason why the OnRamp will work for you is because its clamps can secure a bike by its seat post (so it doesn't need a top crosstube), and can be adjusted up and down as well as turned from side-to-side so your bike doesn't have to be positioned directly next to the clamps.

So it'll work for your Lowstep bike, and is a really nice choice overall for a bike rack.
